CALL FOR APPLICATIONS – NEW MEMBERSHIP IN THE YOUTH CAMERATA ORCHESTRA OF CASTILLA-LA MANCHA (JOCCLM)
- PURPOSE OF THE CALL
The aim of this call is to select young instrumentalists from all specialties who wish to become members of the Youth Camerata Orchestra of Castilla-La Mancha (JOCCLM). The selection will be valid for the 2024–2025 period.
The JOCCLM operates under the direction of the Castilla-La Mancha Camerata Orchestra Foundation, which acts as the organizing entity.
Applicants must be between 16 and 26 years of age, and currently enrolled in at least the 5th year of Professional Music Education in one of the offered instrumental specialties. Candidates who have already completed a Bachelor’s Degree in Music are also eligible.
Exceptionally, candidates under 16 or those not enrolled in official music programs may also be considered, upon request and if their level is deemed appropriate.
2. INSTRUMENTAL SPECIALTIES
Applications are open to fill vacancies in the following instrumental sections:
Violin, Viola, Cello, Double Bass, Flute, Clarinet, Bassoon, Oboe, Trumpet, Horn, Trombone, Tuba, and Percussion.
3. APPLICATION SUBMISSION
Applicants must complete the following form, providing:
- Personal and contact information
- A brief résumé or curriculum vitae
- A YouTube link to a single-cut video (maximum 5 minutes), where the candidate performs a solo piece or an orchestral excerpt

4. ADMISSION INFORMATION
The application deadline is Friday, November 29, 2024.
The list of accepted and waitlisted applicants will be communicated by email within 15 calendar days after the deadline, and will also be published on our website:

4.1. MEMBERSHIP IN THE JOCCLM
Selected applicants will become official members of the JOCCLM and may immediately participate in orchestra activities. Members are required to actively attend all rehearsals, concerts, performances, and other proposed activities. Failure to attend without proper justification or prior approval may result in dismissal.
Applicants who demonstrate the required level but are not admitted due to limited vacancies will be placed on a reserve list. These reserves may be called to fill any vacant positions or participate as reinforcements at the discretion of the artistic direction, but this does not guarantee permanent membership.
Official members of the JOCCLM may also be invited to participate in projects with the Castilla-La Mancha Camerata Orchestra, subject to the artistic director’s approval.
5. SELECTION CRITERIA
The Castilla-La Mancha Camerata Orchestra Foundation reserves the right to accept or reject applications. Candidates will be evaluated based on their demonstrated level and the submitted résumé.
6. REHEARSALS & CONCERTS
Rehearsal and concert dates will be announced in advance, along with the repertoire to be performed, to allow selected participants sufficient time for preparation and planning.
7. EXPENSES AND COMPENSATION
Participation in JOCCLM activities does not entail direct financial compensation. However, the organization will cover full board accommodation during rehearsal and performance periods. Travel expenses to and from the event location are not included.
8. IMAGE RIGHTS
By accepting these terms, applicants authorize the Castilla-La Mancha Camerata Orchestra Foundation and its organization to use any image rights, both still and video, and any rights related to their role as performers in the JOCCLM. This authorization includes any media, format, time, or territorial scope, and may be used for promotional or informational purposes in communication channels and media outlets.
9. FINAL PROVISIONS
Any unforeseen issues regarding these guidelines will be resolved by the board of directors of the Castilla-La Mancha Camerata Orchestra Foundation.
